What is the “Reformer” machine?

What should I wear to class?

We recommend comfortable, form-fitting workout clothes that allow you to move freely. For safety and control, grip socks are required during all classes - they can be purchased at the studio if you don’t have a pair. Please remove your shoes when entering the studio to keep the space clean and safe.

How many people are in each class?

Our classes have a maximum of 5 participants to ensure personalised attention and a friendly supportive atmosphere.

What should I bring to class?

Just yourself and a water bottle. We provide all the Pilates equipment you’ll need.

We have free parking onsite, once you arrive at the venue please follow the signs for Pura Pilates to park just outside the studio!

Can reformer pilates help with injuries or pain?

Accepted Answer

Yes, reformer pilates can be very effective for rehabilitation and managing pain when done under expert guidance. You will be asked to complete a medical questionnaire when booking your first class at Pura Pilates. Depending on your injury and the severity of it, we may recommend a 1:1 session before joining a class.

I am pregnant / post natal - can I do reformer pilates?

Yes but you should always check with your doctor before doing any kind of exercise during and after pregnancy. Pilates tends to be particularly suitable for pregnant women, since it is a low-impact form of exercise that strengthens the back, stomach and pelvic floor muscles. Some exercises may need to be modified while pregnant or post natal. Please let us know if you are pregnant or post natal on the medical questionnaire when booking a class.

What if I need to cancel my class booking?

We have no refund policy. You can reschedule your class bookings up to 24 hours before the start of the class. Late cancellations or no-shows are charged in full.

What is the minimum age requirement?
